“Is it a pizza?, is it an omelette? no its a Pannenkoken!”
“A what?”
“A Pannenkoken…oh let them explain, after all they do have a board and I did take a photo of it, and then do a lame ode to Superman to stretch out the blog entry and introduce the photograph”
I had a Sausage, Mushroom, & Cheese Pannekoken- A Dutch pancake topped with crumbled sausage, fresh sauteed mushrooms, and havarti cheese for $7.95. If I had my time again, I would have approached this meal differently. I started treating it like a pizza eating slices, then used a knife and fork and attacked it like an omelette. I should have just rolled it up like a stuffed crepe or pancake and eaten it in rolled slices. Its hard to make a ‘pancake’ exciting and I had to add salt, pepper and ketchup to it to liven it up, another time I would have added some other fillings to give it a boost. Would I eat it again, I don’t know? It was one of those meals that I really don’t know if I liked it, maybe it was mixing all breakfast goodness with a pancake texture. It was a bit of a ‘Marmite’ meal you either love it or hate it, but in this case I am just a bit Meh about it
It is nice and cosy inside though and just off the beaten track of Lincoln Square
